CATEGORY OF OFFENDER
REQUIREMENTS
  First offence, with a BAC below
.10%.

 
 · under 25 years mandatory

  
· over 25 years at the discretion of a
    magistrate
· Completion of an approved Drink Driver
  Education Course. (Ring the Drink Drive
  Line to book in to a Course)

· Usually offenders at the end of the
  disqualification period go straight back
  to VICROADS for re-licensing

  First offence, with a BAC above
  .10%, but below .15%
· Completion of an approved Drink Driver
  Education Course

· Licence Restoration Order (ie: Go back
  to court at end of disqualification period)
  First offence, with a BAC of .15% or
  above
  
OR
  Second or subsequent drink driving
  offence (regardless of BAC reading)
  
OR
  Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of
  alcohol or drugs
 
 OR
  Refusing to provide a breath sample
  for a preliminary breath test or
  breathalyser
  
OR
  Failing to stop at a random breath
  test station
· Completion of an approved Drink Driver
  Education Course Licence Restoration
  Order

  Assessment for possible drinking
  problems at least 12 months prior to
  application for licence restoration, and
  again, within 28 days of applying
  (Ring the Drink Drive Line to book in for
  an Assessment).
  BAC below .05%, but subject to
  zero BAC limit, and under 25yrs
  of age
Completion of an approved Drink Driver Education Course
  First offender with a BAC below
  .1% and on a bond
Completion of an approved Drink Driver Education Course ( Course must be completed within six months of being placed on the bond)
